I love Hayward’s fantasy value because he contributes in so many ways, but I don’t see him ever rising too far above these post All-Star break numbers. And that’s OK. As long as this is his ceiling, he’s a player you can expect to be available somewhere in the 30s in next year’s fantasy draft. That’s not a bad place to land Hayward as the third or fourth best player on your fantasy team.

Atlanta had geknabbert after early guest guide several times on the comeback. In the third quarter Dennis Schröder brought his team by jumper once even on only 1 point, but again it was Walker, who initiated a threesome an initial spark for the Hornets. The Hawks could not get any closer.
After missing out on some of the other big names that moved this offseason, the Boston Celtics snagged Gordon Hayward, signing him as a free agent this week. In the video above, Neil Paine discusses how Hayward may help the Celtics and whether this latest addition will be enough to help Boston beat the Cleveland Cavaliers.
But the offseason moves alone wouldn’t have made the Jazz this formidable. Utah needed Hayward to take the next step. Among the most notable improvements that he has made: Hayward has grown considerably stronger, giving him the ability to be more aggressive and absorb more contact as he barrels toward the basket following curls and dribble handoffs. I will say this: We don’t exactly know how Gordon Hayward comes back. And he hasn’t shown to be someone you can run your offense through. It grinded my gears last year that Iso Joe Johnson was Utah’s end-of-game shot taker.
The Jazz. Slow it down. Grind it out. Buckle down. Right? That’s not wrong, but don’t overlook the fact that the Warriors had a more efficient defense this season. Hayward was the only member of the Jazz to rank as a top-60 player in terms of usage, so you can bet on the Dubs focusing their defensive attention on him. Durant, Andre Iguodala, and Draymond Green all graded out as top-16 defenders at their position this season, and the freshest one of them figures to be on Hayward at all times. I love Gordon as a player and think he will be worth every penny he earns this offseason … but I’m not trusting him with my DFS dollar in this series until he proves worthy.
Just over five minutes into the first game of the 2017-18 NBA season, Gordon Hayward went up to catch a lob pass. The ball sailed out of reach, wholesale nba jerseys and Hayward crashed to the floor, dislocating his ankle and fracturing his tibia. Whatever faint title aspirations the Celtics may have harbored for this season ended with that play. The main question now is whether Hayward will be able to make a full recovery, and we likely won’t find out this season. The short-term question is easier to answer, and more urgent: Just how bad is it going to get?
The gamble, though, is less a matter of tactics and more of sheer cost. By the 2019-20 season, Griffin and Drummond alone will cost more than $61 million in salary. To give that context, as of right now, that would make the Griffin-Drummond duo just one of five NBA pairings that exceeds the $60 million mark2 in combined salary during that season, according to ESPN front-office insider Bobby Marks. Looking at the others — Washington’s John Wall and Bradley Beal; Oklahoma City’s Russell Westbrook and Steven Adams; Boston’s Al Horford and Gordon Hayward; and Toronto’s Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan — highlights that other clubs who’ve invested in that way have already had perennial playoff success to justify that spending. It’s unclear whether Detroit would ever reach that point; especially without cap space to address the backcourt imbalance.
